An old friend mentioned her nephew got scammed through Instagram chats pretending to be a game moderator, cost the family a lot of stress and money. That story stuck with me since my kid plays the same game and chats with random people online constantly. Want to check who he’s talking to before something similar happens, but need real suggestions from people who’ve actually been through this.

Game moderator scams are more common than people think, my brother’s kid almost fell for one, someone claiming to run tournaments and asking for account details to “verify” his prize. Thankfully my brother glanced at the screen as it happened and shut it down fast, but it rattled him thinking how close it came. Didn’t want to ban gaming entirely since it’s basically his kid’s social life, so he looked for a middle ground. Someone in a parenting group recommended uMobix , said it let him watch chats without hovering over every match. Wish he’d set it up before the scam attempt.
